Myth's are powerful pieces of writings that a vast variety of people enjoy to read and learn about, and they are submerged into our culture from movies and video games to life lessons that create amazing stories. With reading and creating a myth I learned a lot of new things. While reading the myth's I observed that most of them have life lessons at the end of them, or contain a remarkable even possibly absurd reasoning for why certain things exist even if its far from the factual truth. While writing my own myth I learned that it could be super hard and super easy all in one. At first I couldn't think of a thing to write about, it took me almost a week to come up with an idea. But once I knew what I had chosen it was much easier for everything to flow onto paper.
For this as an assignment for high school students as a future teacher, I would love to incorporate it into my teachings for my students. I think it gives a structured, yet at the same time a lot of freedom for intellectual creativity. I personally really enjoyed doing the assignment because of how much creativity could be incorporated into it versus something as writing an eight to ten page research paper on myths. It made it more fun to engage in the learning of myths, and that is something that I would love to share with my future students. I'm tired of doing boring assignments that consist of a ton of rules followed by research that I wont care to know in the future, and if I feel this way I don't want my students to feel this way. I want students to enjoy reading and writing and I think this assignment could really encourage them to do so.

Poetry
Writing poetry versus analyzing poetry are two completely different things. On one hand when writing poetry, most of the time, you're spilling your emotions and feelings onto paper. While on the other hand analyzing poetry is depicting what someone else is feeling, and people are mysterious so it is hard to depict that. While in class we, as the students, had to write our own poems. And the questions at hand are,
- How did writing about poetry inform your own poetry, and vice versa?
- What did you learn from this experience that you could use in your future teaching?
Now for what I learned with this experience and how I would use it for my future teaching.
I learned that this would be a fun and interactive opportunity that I could share with my future students. It would make students feel like they could express themselves in a new way, and it would help the class learn more about each other as a whole. This assignment would also give them something fun to do in the classroom, making them want to learn more; which excites me more than anything.

Introductory, plus Media Technology for the classes
Hello, my name is Carissa Ceglia. I am currently a junior at CSUN, majoring in English-single subject matter. While taking five classes, it is difficult to juggle all the note taking, homework, and keeping up with all the readings. Media technology appears to be a hit or miss for students and teachers in the work environment. While I currently have many different views on it, I sway more towards it being positive and productive for the learning atmosphere. The reason I feel this way is because it gives students a wider scale to learn on. This is also positive for teachers because they can reach out to their students between classes/breaks. Teachers also have the opportunity to allow a paperless turn in, making it environmentally friendly. Lets also not forget that it could make it cheaper for college students by teachers being able to post readings online, making it available and free. I am understanding to teachers who believe it won't help; however, if their main concern is students going on social media sites, porn websites, etc. they are far from correct. I know I wouldn't dare be caught looking at porn in the middle of class, social media sites, maybe but if the students are engaged in a curriculum that everyone is following on with the teacher it makes it difficult for them to be on social media sites.
I've seen first hand many ways teachers and students interact with media technology. One I recently came across was a teacher allowing an anonymous poll, where students text in to join and then answer her question one hundred percent completely anonymously. It was a simple questioned she asked, as if what do you think this course will entail? And people texted in their thoughts, and no one felt ashamed of giving a wrong answer and were willing to participate. This has to be one of the most convincing way to get people involved, including the shy ones. It was absolutely brilliant. Another amazing media technology advancement I experienced was for a Broadcasting class, where the teacher was able to play clips, shows, and soundtracks of different media to enhance the classroom learning experience.
In end, media technology is not a hinder to the learning abilities of students and to help teach them for professors. It can only advance us further as a whole.
